Number 7 in Europe and number 43 in the world

University of Copenhagen is ranked number 7 in Europe according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities  (ARWU) 2011 published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. University of Copenhagen again tops the list of Scandinavian universities.

 

Number 52 in the World

University of Copenhagen is number 52 on the 2011 list of the world's best universities published by QS World University Rankings. In this ranking, University of Copenhagen is the highest ranked Nordic university.  

 

Number 135 in the World

The new Times Higher Education/Thompson Reuters list, World University Rankings, places University of Copenhagen number 135 in 2011, up more than 40 places from last year. See the top 200 list

  

Number 9 on the the Scientist's list of the World's best places to work for life scientists.

The Scientist's Best Places to Work Survey 2010 places University of Copenhagen number nine on a top ten list of the international research institutions that offer the best working conditions for life scientists.

Number 3 on the list of most attractive workplaces among natural science students. A recent survey by Universum Graduate Survey – an annual, impartial questionnaire of Danish students’ career preferences -has ranked University of Copenhagen third on a list of the most desirable workplaces in the engineering/ natural science category.

The largest institution of research and education in Denmark 

 

With over 37,000 students and more than 7,000 employees, University of Copenhagen is the largest institution of research and education in Denmark.

 

Since January 2007, the Faculty of Life Sciences has been one of the eight faculties that make up University of Copenhagen. Together, the eight faculties offer over 200 degree programmes in health sciences, humanities, law, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, science, social sciences, and theology.

 

The University is spread out on four campuses in the Copenhagen area. Faculty of Life Sciences is based at Frederiksberg Campus.
